The Electronic Lover

Please join us on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 7pm PST for a live-streamed Episode 2 release event with the cast and creators of The Electronic Lover. We will talk a little bit, then settle in to listen to Episode 2 together, then open up the chat for Q&A with the audience, moderated by composer and opera producer Paul Dresher.

The program is hosted by the Center for New Music in San Francisco in collaboration with the Paul Dresher Ensemble, and is free and open to the public.

The Electronic Lover is a serial audio opera created by San Francisco Bay Area composer Lisa Mezzacappa and New York writer Beth Lisick. The story is set in chatrooms at the dawn of the Internet, in the moment when we first invited computers into the most intimate aspects of our lives.

The 9-episode series was launched in 2020 and concluded in 2024 with a full-season release on Innova Recordings.
